The Ngorongoro crater is a very popular tourist attraction due to its strategic location and wide range of animals that live here. The Ngorongoro crater is found in the Ngorongoro conservation Area which is part of the Northern Tanzania circuit parks. The crater is about 120km from the town of Arusha and it sits on over 264 square kilometres. The main route that leads to the crater is from the Seneto descent road along the western side of the crater. Then as you come out of the crater you can use the Lerai ascent road which will lead you to the Park headquarters.
